Nicole and Dimitrios- in their own words:

“It’s so funny. You spend what feels like forever planning your dream wedding, and you try to anticipate how you will feel or what emotions will surface on the day of. However, the most incredible moments, and the memories that you and your guests take with you are the things that you never saw coming. We really made an effort to ensure that the wedding was a representation of the both of us. It was really amazing to customize the experience and make it our own. There were elements of old traditions, new traditions and the combining of two families. We are so very grateful to all of our friends and family who came to celebrate our day with us, and to all of the vendors who helped make our day possible. A special shout out to Opulence Event Co. who went above beyond in every way, as well as Scott Gage for the timeless gift of preserving our story in photos.”

In their own words:

“Our wedding was very personal. Everything was chosen very carefully. We chose the church where my grandparents renewed their vows. Every single décor was hand made by myself. The flowers were arranged by family and friends. Our cake was made by my sister-in-law and anything that required sewing, like my veil and flower girl dresses, were made by my mom. This was ideal because we were able to get everything we wanted, how we wanted it and use it on our special day.

All the waiting and preparations, from the day we got engaged to the day of our wedding, has finally been put in place to create our perfect wedding. Our day has been filled with so much love and support from all our family and friends who came from all over. We have made tons of amazing and unforgettable memories. It was surreal, but a dream come true, to finally see it all unfold.”

In their own words:

“It was between a tiny, intimate ceremony in Paris and a larger wedding in our home of Calgary.  And we’re beyond thrilled with our choice.  We selected the various elements of the day as an expression of us and our respective backgrounds, and to see it all come together and experience the day with our favourite people from all over the world was an absolute dream come true!

We chose Knox United Church for its inclusive ceremony and beautiful accoustics for a trumpet, piper, violinists and organ – and it did not disappoint.  We walked behind our piper down Stephen Ave to our reception at Teatro and although nervous it might be kitchy, it ended up being a highlight that our guests really enjoyed, and it seemed passersby did too!  Our dinner was interspersed with touching words from parents, sisters and friends that had us welling with tears and howling with laughter. To honour Alex’s German roots, we transitioned from dinner to dancing with a lively Oompah band that included lots of “Prost” cheers and an impromptu first waltz to Eidleweiss.  The day felt elegant, relaxed, full of traditions and brimming with joy and love.  Our cups runeth over.”

In their own words:

“Our wedding was truly something special to remember. Judy officiated a very personal ceremony complimented by spectacular music from occasional notes.  Weather was perfect and the energy of our friends and family made for a fun time at the reception. I’m sure the memory for balloon popping and Will’s singing will bring laughs or nightmare for years to Carriage House Inn pulled together a beautiful setting, creating a great atmosphere for our day. We look forward to being able to look back and remember this day for a lifetime to come. Thanks for helping to capture and keep this memory alive for us, you were fantastic to work with.”
