shanna + andrew sneak peek. calgary wedding photographer.

Shanna and Andrew are a beautiful couple that Jaime and I really enjoyed hanging out with during their engagement session and so we have been looking forward to being part of their wedding- it doesn’t hurt that we love winter weddings as well, particularly winter weddings in the mountains! The day got off to a crazy start for me when my pants exploded as I bent over to put my gear away- embarrassing! I apologetically spent the entire getting ready time in jeans and then bolted to the pro shop at the golf course to buy new pants- lesson learned I guess.
The getting ready time was fun however- the guys had amazing cufflinks- each the logo of a superhero but classy and understated- I loved them. The girls were in a suite along with the three super cute flower girls and as Shanna put her dress on there was a lot of emotion in the room. This actually became a pervasive theme for the day as it was a real family affair. Shanna’s mom did all the decor (flowers, center pieces), her younger sister did her hair and make-up, her friend was the DJ and the cake was made by her friend’s company Couture Cakes.
When everyone was ready, including me following my trouser escapades, the ceremony was held at Stewart Creek Golf and Country Club and was breath-taking! (I should take this moment personally to really thank the staff their for being so helpful and accommodating as a frantically purchased my new pants.) Everything looked amazing and really set an emotional tone- as did the fact that the mountains were beginning to peek through the winter mist outside of the enormous windows.
After the ceremony, the wedding party bravely put up with the February chill so that we could make some amazing images outside, but when it became a little too chilly we headed into the Grande Rockies Resort for some images inside the lobby.
The reception was back at Stewart Creek and featured incredible food, heartfelt speeches and a super fun dance. There was also a cigar bar and a hot chocolate bar to help the guests stay warm and cozy.
Shanna and Andrew, Jaime and I would like to congratulate you and wish you love, peace and grace in your life together…
